Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find a reply to a few Frequently Asked Questions

- I need a certified translation. Can you help me?
Certainly. I am certified for translations from English/Spanish into Dutch and from Dutch into English/Spanish. I cannot help you for other languages than English, Spanish or Dutch.

- The translation also needs to be legalised. Can you do that as well?
Yes, I can. However, only courts can certify translations. My signature is registered with the Court of First Instance of Kortrijk. I send the documents via mail to the Court. The documents are stamped (legalised) and then forwarded to the address you mentioned.

- How long does a (certified/legalised) translation take?
The translating does not take very long, although it depends on the number and complexity of the documents. The documents are certified immediately after translation and this does not take up any additional time. The legalisation, however, does take some time. As the documents are sent via mail, it will take 4 to 5 working days before the documents are delivered to an address in Belgium.

- Can you give me an indication of the price for a translation?
Each document is different, some documents contain a lot of text, other documents contain but a few lines. Some translators charge a fixed price per page, but I do not think this is fair. I apply a price that is based on the number of lines in a text. As a result, you will only pay for the text that needs to be translated. Additional charges apply for the legalisation. These charges are a flat rate applied to the entire set of documents. You do not have to pay a charge per document.
